A clothing set is a group of clothing pieces that are related, and when all worn together apply an additional set bonus. How many pieces are needed for a set varies from 2-4.
While clothing set bonuses are useful, they are even better with right food buffs and really shine when specific upgrade kits are applied that complement them, and shine even more when the complementary survivor equipment/skills and Dirty Harrys gun(s) (technique) are used. The potential combinations are great, and all subject to opinion. While these combinations are not included on the wiki (to prevent edit wars), you can find various outside sources with suggestions.
You can also see results (or vote yourself if you are expirenced player) of this pool, to have better understanding witch sets are generally considered good/best.
The color of the names below indicate their rarity/tier/level (how difficult they are to obtain). The P, B, and S icons indicate what upgrade kits can fit in the clothing slots.
The higher the tier is, the better is max HP bonus per quality.
Unlocking left upgrade slot on each clothing requires normal quality (not tier) (50), middle one good quality (200 total) and the right one high quality (500 total).

Additional information[]
Explanation[]
Max HP: Health gained by wearing the set based on quality of all clothing (Not counting the HP gained by the set effect itslef). (Each clothing with exceptional quality gives 1 HP even when not worn (but this is not included in this table) Poor quality doesnt give any HP no matter the tier.
The kit icons are count of how many of each kit type the clothing set have.
US (Uniqueness score) is number based system for this table that tells you if the effect of the set can be obtained by kits or food buffs.
Free slots: How many pieces of clothes are not required to complete the set and thereforce doesnt force you to use specific clothing (giving you freedom in choosing tier, kit slots and apperance).
Saved kits: If clothing set bonus can be obtained by upgrade kits this column states how many kits and of which quality you would need to get to have the same effect. (This doesnt inculde effects with uniqeness of 2 or higher) (Keep in mind that you can only have 1 of same kit on each clothing piece [Meaning that each of same kit can only be equiped up to 4 times])
Max HP+kits: The maximum possible health bonus of the set. (Each clothing have exceptional quality with 1 EQ max health kit and all free slots have tier 4 clothing with 1 EQ max health kit and the max hp obtained as the effect itself of the set.)
