Durability is a weapon stat that controls how many hits / parries an item can take before falling apart. Durability is also deducted when breaking vending machines, opening locker, fishing, and shooting guns/bows. A low durability does not decrease damage or salvage values. Base durability varies greatly between weapons, and scales with their quality.

When weapons are forged, the new durability is the average of the two weapons.

When a weapon starts getting low durability, it turns yellow (at 50%[Confirm]) and then red (at 20%[Confirm]).

Occasionally, a weapon will show a dark grey background if there is only 1 hit left (rounded down to 0%) or if its base durability has all been used up but it is not broken yet (potentially due to a Durability Weapon modifier which adds from 5% to 20% more durability). This is a darker grey different from the background of miscellaneous items without durability such as Dyes and First aid kits.

Clothing and some miscellaneous, such as Molotov cocktail, will show a green durability background without a way to decrease durability.

Durability Bonus Sources[]

While durability cannot be refilled once lost, there are various ways to make weapons last longer.

As such, it is possible to have +86% Durability on a weapon because most of the buffs are all additive (displayed on top right corner while profile is opened) while strategies are generally multiplicative.[Confirm]

Bugs[]

  • After a disconnection and a re-connection, the total durability of a forged weapon reverts to the one of the base weapon.
  • Non-weapons, such as food items, may exhibit item backgrounds linked to durability when used to unsuccessfully smash a vending machine.
  • Legendary items cannot parry properly and thus do not lose durability in parry position.
